  • ***The African Union is holding a Signaling Conference on the 2nd-3rd of September in South Africa. The Signalling Conference for Services was Nigeria's idea, as Chairman of the Negotiating Forum (NF) *** The Signaling Conference would be a two-day event where African countries will present market access opening for trade in service. Nigeria shall be participating at the Services Signaling Conference, with representatives from operators in Nigeria's Services Sector and the Nigerian Coalition of Services Industries (NCSI) *** Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire now join Nigeria as the African countries participating in the WTO E-commerce Initiative, following the launch of negotiations in Davos on 25th January 2019.  Nigerian Chief Trade Negotiator, Ambassador Osakwe commended Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire saying: “Congratulations to Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire for their foresight and positive engagement. You can only influence and decide on rules, if you are at the negotiating table. Nigeria looks forward to collaborating with both countries in the Ecommerce Initiative and associated negotiations” *** Le ZLECAF est en marche.
